Founder & Executive Director

Anurag oversees all operations of OPA including grant-writing, finances, and field projects. He helped plan the 2006 Teacher’s Training Workshop, and facilitated the Teaching Workshops at our project site in Mandalay. Anurag received his bachelor’s in International Relations and South Asian/Middle Eastern Affairs from New York University, and served as a Fulbright Korea Teacher in Gwangju, South Korea, in 2006-07. He is a currently master’s student in Development Studies at Cambridge, and hopes to continue children’s rights and education advocacy in developing Asia.

Field Projects Director

Maggie coordinates and manages the teacher training workshop for our project site in Mandalay, Burma. The workshops’ goal is methodological exchange with an aim to meld Western and Asian teaching practices to foster a diverse and focused curriculum for both workshop participants and facilitators. These workshops cover a variety of issues from classroom management to development of an interactive curriculum to inspire and motivate young learners.

Maggie studied at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in History and Political Science. She is currently serving her second year as a Fulbright Korea Teacher, working at a co-educational high school in Cheonan, South Korea. In the future, she hopes to work in the field of education, assisting refugees and internally displaced people.
